I used to avoid salons like many people avoid the dentist. Instead of getting the cute haircut I clipped in Elle, I let my hair grow out. Well, after booking my first appointment with Lati Domi, of Propaganda Hair Group, I am happy to proclaim that those days are O.V.E.R.
Propaganda Hair Group is now my favorite salon in Austin. Located on 5th Street between Campbell and West Lynn, Propaganda is perfectly placed 5 minutes away from Whole Foods (one of my other favorite hangouts). The clean, minimal salon feels unlike any other. The interior was designed by renowned architect, Dick Clark, and the sleek aesthetic reminded me of the Balenciaga store in New York City. From the waiting area, to each station, it seemed that every detail was considered.
My experience at Propaganda was fabulous. Not only did I walk away with the best hair cut of my life (I've lived in New York and California and nothing has come close!), I also walked away with great tips, and a better understanding of what I should do to keep my hair looking great. Lati emphasized the importance of looking to editorial fashion for inspiration, and it was refreshing to talk to someone who knew so much about fashion. I knew instantly that I was in great hands. From the relaxing shampoo, to the cut and consultation, the team at Propaganda proved that they go the extra mile for every customer who walks through their door.

Sara + Lati Domi opened Propaganda when they moved to Austin. I first met Sara on a fashion shoot for the September Style issue of TRIBEZA. The makeup and hair was so fresh and beautiful, that I knew I had to visit Propaganda soon. Sara and Lati each have amazing backgrounds in the fashion + beauty industries — so combined, they are truly a fashion power couple.

Her editorial work has also been seen in Harper's Bazaar, Allure and Vogue to name a few.
Lati has also worked for Toni & Guy, and served as International Art Director for TIGI. He teaches hair cutting to stylists and salon owners around the world, and styles clients at Sundance Film Festival and SXSW. In addtion to doing hair for major fashion shows, like Yigal Azrouël, Lati's work has also been featured in Harper's Bazaar, Blender, and People magazines.
